The PlayLab Team is made up of a great group of individuals who are passionate about education and the PlayLab approach to learning; our team consists of our Founder & CEO, our Board of Advisors, our Curriculum Contributors, ourOperational Staff, and our Facilitators.

Mohan Nadarajah, P.Eng., MBA
Founder & CEO

With more than a decade of experience with successful new businesses Mohan provides strategic leadership as CEO. With strong connections throughout the academic community and passion for education and relevant skill development in children, Mohan has assembled a team of experts to design a curriculum that will prepare today's youth for tomorrow's challenges. 

Mohan holds an M.B.A. for Science and Technology from Queen's University, Kingston; and a Hons. B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Management Science from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo. Mohan has been a member of the board of Ryerson University Faculty of Electrical Engineering. He has served as a board member of two additional companies as well as a board member of Holistic Kriya Yoga Sang, a charitable organization.

Barbara Martin, H.BSc., B.Ed, M.Ed. 

Barbara earned a Masters of Education in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, as well as both a Bachelor of Education from OISE and an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto. 

Prior to her work with PlayLab, Barbara was the Program Manager at The Centre for Professional Development and Enrichment Studies at the University of Toronto where she managed 21 distinctive educational programs, reaching more than 20,000 participants annually. Drawing experience from years spent both teaching and training educators, Barb strongly believes in the enduring impact of experiential education. Barbara has led workshops at the Science Teachers Association of Ontario training teachers on methods for bringing hands-on science into the classroom.


Kassia Kukurudza, H.BSc., B.Ed. 

After completing an Honour's Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology and Biological Anthropology at the University of Toronto, Kassia decided to pursue a career in the field of education. She completed a Bachelor of Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, with a strong focus on cooperative education and 21st century learning.  

Kassia brings several years of experience working in the fields of both private and public education, including four years working with the York Region District School Board's Summer Institute program, where she developed and implemented an inquiry-based, hands-on science program. Her years working in education have instilled in her a strong passion for project-based learning and experiential education, as well as an enthusiasm for inclusive classrooms.


Jasmine Wong, H.BSc, B.Ed, M.Ed. 

Jasmine Wong brings over a decade of experience in education to the Playlab team. Jasmine earned a Masters of Arts in Policy, Organization and Leadership Studies in Education from Stanford University School of Education. She holds both an Honours Bachelors of Science; Specialist in Human Biology and a Bachelors of Education degree from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. 

Jasmine contributes a passion for design process paired with experience from the D School at Stanford to her role in curriculum enrichment and development. Prior to her work with PlayLab, Jasmine was a Co-facilitator of the Design Thinking workshop for teachers, spent more than three years teaching Science in middle school, and contributed to organizations including a play-based educational day camp on land and sea, Canada World Youth, Fount of Mercy and Street Kids International, and Facing History and Ourselves.


Ammad Nasir, B.A.Sc.   

Ammad graduated from the University of Toronto with an Engineering degree and specialized in Robotics. He has also worked at the University of Toronto as an Instructor for the DEEP and RobotX programs. Ammad's actively involved in enterprising projects and co-manages Volunteer Connect and TEDxYouth@Toronto. His strong affitinity for creative design and technology has eventually led him down the path of digital media development. Ammad is currently the President and Creative Director at Bode Integrated Media - a creative design studio.

Mark Chamberlain, BASc, M.A.Sc.
President & Senior Partner, Trivaris Ltd. 

With a history of successfully growing organizations including Trivaris Ltd., Mark Chamberlain is best known for taking Wescam from a small enterprise to a company of 550 employees before selling it to L3 Communications. In his current role as President of Trivaris Ltd. he lives his passion for driving innovative community development. In addition to investing and growing early-stage technology companies, Mark strives to create businesses, jobs and encouraging local economic growth. Mark's contributions have been recognized through numerous awards including an Academy Award for Technical Achievement, 16 Emmy Awards, a Canadian Business Tech Award, and a Canadian Export Award.

Every PlayLab Facilitator has considerable experience working with children in a learning environment and is passionate about education. Our Facilitator Team is made up of individuals from diverse educational backgrounds and experiences creating a well-rounded team of facilitators that serve as great role models for our participants. Our Facilitators are dedicated to making sure children learn in a safe, fun and engaging environment. 

Every PlayLab Facilitator is extensively trained in PlayLab's project-based curriculum to encourage and promote the process of child-directed learning through active participation. Facilitators mentor, encourage and attend to each child's unique needs.
